2013	Move to a new platform (Invenio) for a better search performance: INSPIRE.
2010	CERN joined.
	Running on an IBM-emulation to simulate hardware that doesn’t exist anymore. Unable to store records of big collaborations with >1000 authors and affiliations.
Dec. 1991	First web-server outside Europe. Close collaboration with arXiv.
1980s	More databases: CONF, EXP, INST, HEPnames, JOBs.
1980s	Fermilab joined.
1980s	Remote access: send email with search query to the system, receive email with search-result in batches of 25 records.
1974	Database SPIRES-HEP funded by DESY&SLAC, based on data from e.g. the HEPIndex. Access from computer at SLAC.
1963	DESY collected lists of publications enriched with subjects and keywords to describe the content. Published in printed volumes, the HEPIndex. Similar service by SLAC.
